Help and method
Help, and how this guide works
Help with gambling is confidential and free, and Gambling Support BC answers the phone 24/7 at 1-888-795-6111. The second half of the page explains who writes this guide and how its facts are checked.

Help
Where to get help
- Gambling Support BC, a provincial program run by the IGCO, answers at 1-888-795-6111, free, confidential and 24/7. A caller reaches a navigator who can help right away, find services nearby or connect the caller to a counsellor at no cost.
- Game Break, BCLC's voluntary self-exclusion program, takes enrolments in person with government-issued photo ID at any casino, community gaming centre or commercial bingo hall. Terms run 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or 3 years, cannot be changed once chosen, and also cover PlayNow.com.
- Casino of the Rockies has a GameSense Info Centre on site and takes part in Game Break. A GameSense Advisor is available in every casino in British Columbia.
- People affected by someone else's gambling can call Gambling Support BC as well. The navigator can connect them with a counsellor at no cost, and more is on gamblingsupportbc.ca.
Limits
Setting limits before the drive
Before leaving Cranbrook, it helps to decide two things: how much money the evening can cost and what time it ends. Casino of the Rockies closes at 11 pm from Sunday to Thursday and at 1 am on Friday and Saturday. On most nights, closing time gives the visit a clear end point. Holiday hours should be checked on casinooftherockies.ca. Entry is only for guests 19 or older, the legal gambling age in British Columbia.
Method
The Kootenay Valley desk
Cranbrook Casino Valley Notes is written and signed collectively as the Kootenay Valley desk. No page carries a personal byline, and the site has no named author. The young woman in the guide's pictures is a generated character: not a real person, not staff and not the author.
Facts were checked on October 11, 2026, against the casino's and the resort's own pages, BCLC's casino listing and provincial sources. Distances are straight lines between OpenStreetMap coordinates, so roads run longer. Hours are local Mountain time.
There are no forms, comments or accounts on the site. The only thing it keeps is the colour theme chosen in the open browser tab, and nothing else about readers is stored.
